Dear visitors and followers,

I will be moving out from Blogspot to my own domain at http://www.frozenlite.com. At the moment, the site is still under construction and should be operational by August 2010. Until then, I won't be updating this site anymore. If you would like to see my latest photos please proceed to my Flickr site here. All of my images/photos are copyrighted. If you wish to buy yourself a print, kindly proceed here. If you wish to get a softcopy, all of my images are available for purchase via Getty Images. All you need to do is visit my Flickr page and at the photo page, there will be a link to license the image via Getty Images.

UPDATE: My blog is now up and can be accessed at http://diary.frozenlite.com

And last but not least, I will be conducting a workshop (hopefully on a regular basis) on HDR and DRI. Details are still being worked out but if you like to find out more about it, drop me a line vedd -[at]- frozenlite -[dot]- com

Smooth

Wednesday, June 23, 2010

Smooth, originally uploaded by vedd.

A photo outing with the skillful AcidSulfurik to Sungai Kanching. It's been sitting in my archive just waiting to be 'touched' and I thought why not take a break from "Darul Quran" shots :-)

The Kanching Falls are located between Kuala Lumpur and Rawang in Selangor, Malaysia. The waterfalls consist of seven tiers. A well-maintained recreation park gives access to the lower falls, to reach the upper falls some scrambling uphill is required. It is one of the popular tourist destinations of Kuala Lumpur. - Wikipedia

Note: Due a lot of requests, I will be holding a simple workshop on HDR and DRI in November 2010. Will post the details when everything is organized.

Tech Specs: 100% DRI and Hoya ND400 filter for that exceptional long exposure bracketed shots :-)

Blue, originally uploaded by vedd.

A small get together with these fine gentlemen - AcidSulfurik, Annamir and Buyie My thanks for their hospitality and friendliness.

The last light of the day. Taken at the far ends of Darul Quran. Is this the last of the DQ series? Nope :-)

Note: Due a lot of requests, I will be holding a simple workshop on HDR and DRI in November 2010. Will post the details when everything is organized.

Tech Specs: 50% DRI, 50% Tone Mapped HDR, 0% Hoya ND400 and last but not least 0% vertorama (getting dark too fast) :-)

Standing still

Standing still, originally uploaded by vedd.

A small get together with these fine gentlemen - AcidSulfurik, Annamir and Buyie My thanks for their hospitality and friendliness.

For this one, I decided to capture the beautiful surroundings that flanked a beautiful mosque! If I got a chance, I will definitely comeback for a sunrise :-)

Note: Due a lot of requests, I will be holding a simple workshop on HDR and DRI in November 2010. Will post the details when everything is organized.

Tech Specs: This is pure tone mapped HDR from 9 exposures. This place definitely requires vertorama to show the full extend of it's beauty and the HOYA ND400 filter for that exquisite mirror touch :)

Better than TV

Better than TV, originally uploaded by vedd.

I'm practically copying my buddy DanielKHC's title for this one. He used this title as well for his photos and all because it is actually better than watching TV. I have the same feeling when I see 'this' in the camera's viewfinder.

Tech Specs: This is pure DRI and no tone mapped HDR from 4 exposures. A little vertorama for taste and of course, the HOYA ND400 filter for that exquisite mirror touch :)

Reflecting on life, originally uploaded by vedd.

A small get together with these fine gentlemen - AcidSulfurik, Annamir and Buyie My thanks for their hospitality and friendliness.

As with the previous picture, this is Darul Quran's Mosque - a beautiful mosque, flanked by an equally beautiful surroundings! If I got a chance, I will definitely comeback for a sunrise :-)

Tech Specs: Same as the previous one - a little DRI, a little tone mapped HDR and a little vertorama to spice things up. Off course, it wouldn't be perfect without the tasty Hoya ND400 filter :D

'Selective' sunlight, originally uploaded by vedd.

First of all, my thanks to these fine gentlemen - AcidSulfurik, Annamir and Buyie for their hospitality and friendliness. My gratitude to them for spending time with me!

Well, if you didn't know, this is Darul Quran's Mosque - a beautiful mosque, flanked by an equally beautiful surroundings! If you're wondering about the title, the sun was blocked by patches of clouds and hence, it shines on certain areas of the surroundings - in this case the mosque :)

Tech Specs: A little DRI, a little tone mapped HDR and a little vertorama to spice things up. Off course, it wouldn't be perfect without the tasty Hoya ND400 filter :D
