In the spirit of Independence

Random shots that I took in regards to the 50th Malaysian Independence Day. What does independence really means to you? :-) I know that most people will take the national flag as a reference to the Independence Day, but I just want to be different :-)
So, let's celebrate our 50th Indepence Day - the Malaysian way!

frankensteina: Thanks frankie! Nice to hear that you getting a dSLR :)
If you are to ask me for pointers, I'll be telling you to go for Canon EOS 400D as this camera is a real value for money (around 2.6k with the kit lens) for beginners.
Nikon has an entry level as well, the D40 or the new D40X but then, the features aren't that great. Nikon D40 is cheap and is a 6MP but the upgraded D40X is 10MP and cost slightly more than the Canon 400D.
But feature wise, 400D is way better than the D40X. Off course, if you have an extra 1K you can alway get the Nikon D80 or the Canon 40D :-)
If you want to check out reviews or comparing go to http://www.dpreview.com
